Organized for the first time in 2013, the Lac du Der Marathon is now the 4th largest marathon in the Grand Est region in terms of participants, with some 1,300 competitors and almost 10,000 spectators along the route.
After setting off from Saint-Dizier, the course skirts Lac du Der, France’s largest man-made lake, to arrive at the harbour of the seaside resort of Giffaumont-Champaubert, close to the JOA Casino.
This rolling marathon passes through woods and forests on the lake’s dikes.
