Saddle up!
Cycling along the Marne river, discovering the Blaise valley in Haute-Marne, soaking up the gentle pace of life in the Champagne bocage, with its rural landscapes and timber-framed heritage. The Lac du Der cycle routes guarantee a visit to picturesque places that you wouldn’t necessarily have had access to with your car or camper van. Cycle route 52 (V52) takes you through the Marne valley from Dormans, on the Aisne border, to Vitry-le-François in the south-east of the Marne. The Veloroute 53 (V53) starts in Vitry-le-François and follows the canal between Champagne and Burgundy to the town of Langres in the south of the Haute-Marne. The first stage takes you to Saint-Dizier, and even offers you the chance to reach Lac du Der via the village of Orconte.
