The carp Star du Lac du Der

If you’re looking for an ideal spot for carp fishing in the Marne or Haute-Marne, Lac du Der is the place for you! Carp anglers appreciate not only the abundance of fish in the lake’s waters, but also the beautiful spots set up especially for them.

Carp fishing at Lac du Der

Out in the open, under the stars, waiting… Then, leaping at the whistle of the bite detector, hooking and fighting to catch the star fish to be caught, cared for, photographed and finally returned to its underwater world.

The “magic” carp of Lac du Der have a characteristic hump, very pronounced on the spine, due to their extremely rapid growth in this rich environment.

Nightcarp fishing is uniquely managed; there are no night fishing runs, but 35 sites managed by reservation during the season from late March to late October. An agent from the Maison des Pêcheurs will welcome and guide you during your stay.

A record carp at Lac du Der

In October 2015, a carp angler had the privilege of catching France’s biggest carp by hauling up a colossal specimen weighing 44 kg!
