Lake and river fish More than 45 species inhabit the region's waters

Not only Lac du Der, but also the region’s rivers, ponds and other waterways offer exceptional fishing spots in the Marne and Haute-Marne. The many species of fish found in these waters attract anglers from the Grand Est region and nearby European countries.

An aquatic environment rich in fish

On this immense lake and in the many rivers and streams in our region, 200 km from Paris, anglers await you. They will share with you the joys of fishing, the excitement of wide open spaces, the pleasure of breathing deeply, the discovery of the scents of water and greenery, the fever of catching trophy fish

Thanks to a very rich food pyramid, in a healthy environment, because the water is of excellent quality, the aquatic environment is full of fish. The abundant spawning of white fish allows rapid development of carnivorous species, of which pike has become the flagship fish.

The lake’s vocation is carnivore fishing, a reputation built up by its anglers over the years, and reveals an untapped potential for other fishing techniques, which theUFAPPMA – Maison des Pêcheurs – has taken on to develop. The UFAPPMA manages the fishing industry at Lac du Der – Chantecoq.

Find out about all the fish species you can catch at Lac du Der, as well as in the rivers, ponds and canals of the Marne and Haute-Marne regions.
